This August and September, member representatives of GIJN will vote to elect 7 members of its 15-member Board of Directors. Here is a list of candidates who have submitted their names for GIJN’s Board of Directors.
A France-based nonprofit founded in 2020, EIF has built an international network of more than 100 trained investigative journalists and environmental experts, connecting them to each other and to opportunities to probe activities shaping the natural world.
In Tunisia, where the first protests of the Arab Spring took place, a start-up with a focus on investigative journalism and narrative storytelling is attempting to exploit the country’s relative media freedom to win over readers.
Some of the most significant progress in newsroom information security over the past decade has been in smaller, more recently-formed digital startups — many of them investigative outlets. They are proving they can effectively incorporate strong information security strategies into their highly adaptive and responsive workflows.
GIJN’s latest membership class sees its first member in Lithuania and a Netherlands-based exiled group focused on Turkmenistan. The groups include investigative media outlets, a journalists’ collective, and a social enterprise that is building representative newsrooms. GIJN also welcomed members from Denmark, Georgia, India, South Africa, and the United States.
GIJN’s latest membership class includes its first two members from Francophone Africa and three new members in the Middle East/North Africa. They range from investigative newsrooms and media development groups to university-based centers and cross-border networks. GIJN also welcomed members from six previously unrepresented countries: Cameroon, Malta, Paraguay, Palestine, Senegal, and the Slovak Republic.
The Global Investigative Journalism Network is pleased to welcome eight new member organizations based in eight countries, including GIJN’s first members in Greece and Zambia. With these new members, our network now includes 211 organizations in 82 countries.
At a time of growing intolerance toward independent media and free expression, we at GIJN are particularly pleased to announce that our Board of Directors has approved a record 20 new member organizations from 14 countries. GIJN now has 203 member groups in 80 countries.
The Global Investigative Journalism Network is delighted to welcome seven new member organizations based in five countries. We are particularly pleased to welcome our first member in Australia and our first representing Syrian journalists. The new groups bring GIJN’s global membership to 184 organizations in 77 countries.
The Global Investigative Journalism Network is delighted to welcome 10 new member organizations. Along with training centers in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Trinidad, our new members include a Cuban environmental reporting site, a Brazilian newsroom focused on human rights, a Mexican media lab, a Russian citizen investigative center, a Swiss startup magazine, a European reporting network and a Philippine investigative reporting center.
