To mark this year’s International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, November 2, UNESCO is out with a troubling new report that finds it’s still easy to get away with murder for killing journalists. Here’s the good news: last year logged the lowest annual death toll for journalists in a decade, with 57 deaths. The bad news: the level of impunity remains extraordinarily high, with almost nine in ten cases resulting in no punishment.
