  1. Japanese journalism has been thoroughly defanged, if it existed at all. I would love to tackle the biggies independently, but I can’t afford to fall foul of the libel laws. There’s wiggle room for the society to ‘vent’ and feel some modicum of justice is being done, but it’s delusional. Only the Japanese can stand up to their government, and harsh working lives keep people busy with the business of survival.
